About the Facility – Providence VAMC The Providence VA Medical Center's main campus provides primary care and specialty health services, including mental health care oncology, prescriptions, treatment for alcohol and drug abuse, and more. It offers 32 subspecialty clinics to meet the needs of Veterans, and the medical center delivers a broad range of services in medicine, surgery, and behavioral sciences and is currently operating 73 beds. Responsibilities

Physician shall be responsible for providing Oncology care, including, but not limited to: Diagnosis, evaluation, and management of various disease conditions related to Oncological disease or coagulopathies. Provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic, setting if the patient can report to the outpatient clinic. Approximate clinical load per FTE is as follows: 5 hours of inpatient coverage per week; 26 hours of bookable clinical time per week. The remaining duty time dedicated to clinical follow-up and other assigned tasks as tumor board discussions. For bookable clinical time, approximate case load is 2 patients per hour. Be on-call to evaluate and treat Oncologist consults, clinic, and chemotherapy patients. Extensive inpatient and outpatient teaching of medical students and medical residents required. Provide inpatient and outpatient teaching of medical students and medical residents required. Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Hematology/Oncology clinical patients. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the VAMC Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must be board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Must have current license to practice medicine in any state, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. Must have current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) as certified by the American Heart Association (AHA).
