Job description

Position Summary:

The Analyst Compliance Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) and Master Crew List (MCL) will ensure JetBlue’s consistent alignment with all customs agencies to which JetBlue operates international flights. This will also include Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration as it relates to APIS and MCL. This role enables JetBlue to sustain strong relationships with agencies such as US Customs and Border Protection and TSA through regular outreach and information sharing.  The role is responsible for non-compliance management, information gathering and sharing, trend/analytical support to drive process and compliance improvement, and maintaining both internal and external stakeholder relationships critical to JetBlue’s regulatory objectives. This role is to serve as a liaison between JetBlue and CBP to address areas of non-compliance. Interaction with JetBlue internal stakeholders of APIS and MCL will be essential to this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Receive all incoming compliance requests and notifications from USCBP, TSA, and international agencies pertaining to APIS and MCL and send receipt acknowledgement.
  • Triage and categorize all incoming compliance requests and assign to appropriate working teams for resolution (i.e. Flight Ops, In-Flight, Sys Ops, Crew Services);
  • Monitor requests for completion, status checks, follow-up and escalation.
  • Convey solution completion to respective government agencies in a timely manner.
  • Review compliance issues for trends and potential need for systemic process/procedural change;
  • Coordinate/own efforts to conduct high-level changes/change management, where applicable
  • Conduct regular interface with agency partners and maintain awareness of all directive/regulatory references, resources, and content changes;
  • Maintain centralized data/document repository for all APIS/MCL regulatory resources;
  • Share resources and conduct change management with impacted stakeholder teams
  • Serve as an Admin for the Crewmember Access Point (CMAP) program to ensure the highest levels of regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement best practices
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in trending and analyzing data
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking, including trend analysis to identify recurring issues and issue root cause analysis; developing creative solutions to complex problems
  • Experience with Crew Services, APIS, and/or MCL
  • Ability to support on-going relationship-development and communication with regulatory and government agencies
  • Organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong problem identification and solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow complex instructions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize to meet deadlines; ability to manage simultaneous deadlines
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Responsible for ensuring crewmembers have requisite training, resources and support to achieve safety objectives (if using the current template).
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.
