Job description

Position Summary:

The Revenue Management team is responsible for maximizing ticket revenue on every flight, every day, within the JetBlue route network. The group is comprised of two teams, Yield Management and Pricing, that work closely together to ensure that JetBlue is selling the optimal number of tickets across the spectrum of prices available based on customer demand.

As a Senior Analyst, Revenue Management Yield Management, you will be responsible for managing the revenue performance for a portfolio of JetBlue routes, often representing more than $400 million of revenue under direct control.

On top of your market scope, you will work closely with your Crewleader to make sure the rest of the team is aligned on team- and department-wide initiatives and implement market strategies as needed. You will also leverage your prior market management experience to tackle higher-level projects/analysis and mentor/train fellow Crewmembers. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proactively initiate market reviews and team/department projects that identify revenue generating opportunities for JetBlue, and then implement strategies that help maximize revenue potential
  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise, as well as advanced technical and analytical skills, through the practical application of Revenue Management (RM) theory and best practices
  • Effectively communicate revenue performance, fare environment, and competitive market dynamics to fellow Crewmembers, Managers, and above
  • Leverage experience and depth of RM knowledge to design and implement tests to drive system-wide revenue improvements and enhance current RM business processes
  • Consistently demonstrate leadership by serving as a thought-leader, role model, and go-to resource for other Crewmembers, as well as mentor and train new hires
  • Provide cross-functional support to other teams including Sales, Network Planning, Loyalty, Vacations, and Marketing
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience
  • Three (3) years of analytical quantitative experience
  • One (1) year of RM experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as quantitative critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrate analytical reasoning in order to tackle complex problems through an onsite work sample
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively and under pressure 
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related field
  • Two (2) years of RM experience
  • A proven interest in airlines, aviation, or transportation systems in schooling or prior work experience
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and other database tools

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
  • Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation: 

  • The base pay range for this position is between $88,000.00 and $132,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
