Shepherds feed and care for all people consistent with the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control). Our supreme example of a Shepherd is "The Good Shepherd", Jesus Christ.

Job Duties:

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year's cooking experience in a healthcare or industrial setting. Will be flexible, compassionate and creative. Will have a current food handlers' certification and the ability to pass a criminal history check. We will train the right person

  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus

  • Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance

  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures

  • Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus

  • Prepare and serve bedtime snacks

  • Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with resident's meal tray

  • Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served

  • Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies
