Are you an experienced educator that longs to impact students in a small classroom setting without restrictions on sharing your Christian faith?


Adams County Christian School in West Union, OH is accepting applications for Substitute Teachers. Our mission is to provide a biblically based, classical education that inspires a passion for excellence, a heart of grace, and the character of Christ.


ACCS is interested in teachers who are both highly relational as well as uniquely qualified for teaching multiple subject areas. We are looking for teachers who prefer small class sizes, value strong relationships with their classes and have a desire for a learning environment designed to help each student achieve their highest levels of success. We desire for our substitute teachers to model and help our students develop attitudes consistent with a Christian worldview.


The ideal candidate would have a Valid Ohio Teaching License and have experience in classroom management. Our Substitute Teacher candidates would be responsible for leading classroom instruction, managing student behavior, and providing individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. The teacher will work closely with the school leadership and other teachers to support the academic success of all students.



Responsibilities:


· Provide individualized instruction to students with diverse learning needs

· Manage student behavior and maintain a positive classroom environment

· Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary

· Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

· Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports


Requirements:

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Be able to pass a Level 2 Background Clearance

· Be able to pass a Drug Test

· Be able to pass an Alcohol Screening

· Be willing to learn and implement technology systems including Microsoft Office Suite, our SIS, Smart TV’s and more


Preferred but not required:

· Bachelor's degree in education or related field 

· Teaching license and certification

· 4+ years of teaching experience

· Be a role-model in speech, actions, and attitude consistent with a daily walk with Jesus.

· Follows the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with misunderstandings among students, parents, administration and staff.

· Accept and teach the self-worth of each student as created in God’s image.


Instructional:

· Teach classes as assigned by the Dean following the prescribed scope and sequence.

· Integrates biblical principles and Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum.

· Utilize appropriate teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school's philosophy.

· Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work.


Professional:

· Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.

· Has a teachable spirit and demonstrates an attitude of continued learning and professional development.

· Provides input and recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.


Personal:

· Demonstrates enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.

· Exercises friendliness and consideration while treating each student impartially.

· Submits respectfully and is loyal to constituted authority.
