• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, evaluating their emotional and psychological needs to develop personalized treatment plans.

• Actively collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the unique needs of seniors.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions that support residents and their families through the complexities of end-of-life issues.

Your primary focus will be seniors who may be experiencing a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. As a counselor, you will work closely with elderly clients who are navigating significant life changes and the challenges of aging. Your role will be pivotal in providing a compassionate and understanding approach to assist them during these critical transitions, ensuring they feel valued and supported.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in Washington State.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience working directly in geriatric mental health counseling settings.
• Demonstrated proficiency in applying evidence-based interventions to support elderly mental health.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with older adults.
• Comprehensive understanding of the ethical and legal standards relevant to geriatric mental health counseling.

• Advanced training or specialization in geriatric mental health and age-related psychological issues.
• Experience in developing and implementing specialized programs for the elderly population.
• Familiarity with digital health tools and platforms that enhance telehealth counseling.
