Job Title: Production Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our automotive plastics manufacturing facility in Washington, IN. This role is crucial in managing the production schedule, overseeing raw material inventory, coordinating procurement planning, tracking costs, and ensuring customer delivery requirements are met. The position focuses on Quality, Cost, and Delivery, which are the key drivers of performance in our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily and weekly production scheduling and work order management.
  • Control raw material inventory and coordinate procurement planning.
  • Forecast demand using order history, seasonal trends, and market data.
  • Track costs, manage budgets, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and coordinate defect containment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in quality, maintenance, engineering, and sales.
  • Plan processes in conjunction with the Plant Manager.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2–4 years of production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of inventory management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, KPI tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive or plastics manufacturing is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with injection molding or extrusion processes is advantageous.
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems is helpful.
  • Strong math and analytical skills for cost tracking and forecasting.
  • High school diploma required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
