Job description

A global automotive parts company in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an English Japanese Bilingual Technical Translator-Interpreter. The ideal candidate will communicate with customers and provide language support for administrative tasks. This position is full-time direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package. Entry level candidates are encouraged to apply.



Japanese English Bilingual Technical Translator-Interpreter Responsibilities:

  • Translation of documents, emails in Japanese and English
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments for associates and managers
  • Assistance with executive meetings between upper management, clients, etc.
  • Multicultural communication in office and factory setting, including visiting client’s sites when it’s needed
  • Handle administrative tasks, respond to customers inquiries, and understand their needs
  • Input data entry in the database and keep the records updated
  • Perform other related duties as assigned



Japanese English Bilingual Technical Translator-Interpreter Requirements:

  • Business level of Japanese language skills are required (Equivalent to JLPT N2 level)
  • Can do business travel, such as attending trade shows and meetings which amounts to no more than 10% of the time
  • Associate’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, Linguistics, Social Studies or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Strong experience in Japanese and English interpretation and translation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to do other tasks as assigned
  • This position is in an office work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20 pounds, lift in excess of 20 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
