Area Manager to work within New York Metro market. Must be bi-lingual (English / Spanish) and have a valid driver's license, as a company van will be provided.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Area Manager to oversee and manage our janitorial services across multiple locations. The Area Manager will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of janitorial services, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, managing a team of janitorial staff, and fostering positive client relationships. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering top-quality service.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Lead and manage a team of janitorial staff across various locations, ensuring that all cleaning services are executed according to established standards and guidelines.
  • Quality Assurance: Regularly inspect and assess the cleanliness and maintenance of facilities to ensure compliance with company standards and client expectations.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise janitorial personnel, providing clear guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for all assigned locations, taking into consideration workload, special events, and client needs.
  • Payroll: You are responsible for coordinating the entire payroll cycle, which involves training employees on clocking in and out, collecting and verifying timesheets/punches, reviewing attendance records, and ensuring accurate calculation of hours worked and overtime. You collaborate with HR and finance teams to compile necessary payroll data, update employee information, and process changes such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage janitorial supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring that all sites are adequately stocked and equipped for efficient operations. Managers are responsible for ordering supplies and/or equipment for their locations.
  • Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients by addressing their concerns, providing regular updates on service progress, and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the management team to develop and manage budgets for janitorial services, controlling costs while delivering exceptional service quality.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, and implement best practices to promote a safe working environment for staff and clients.
  • Reporting: Generate and submit regular reports on service performance, staff productivity, budget utilization, and other key performance indicators.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address operational challenges, implementing effective solutions and process improvements to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Training: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all operational and health & safety training activities, including attendance, assessment results, and certifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and developments, and proactively introduce innovative practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of janitorial services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in janitorial services management or a related role, with a track record of successful team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of janitorial best practices, equipment, and cleaning techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple locations simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, and management.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and applications for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and environmental sustainability in janitorial operations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel between different locations as required.
  • Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish).
