Job description


Janitorial Lead


SUMMARY

Responsible for routine cleaning and supervising routine cleaning of all areas of the building as well as the grounds outside of the building


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training, of members of the custodial staff
  2. Plans and oversees all custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency
  3. Performs minor maintenance and replaces lights, ceiling tile, and sindws where possible
  4. Maintains an inventory and recommends selection of suitable custodial supplies
  5. Inspects the performance of the custodial staff on a regular basis
  6. Must get along well with others and work effectively with the customer and co-workers
  7. Locks and unlocks doors
  8. Checks the security of the building and grounds
  9. Maintains the floor
  10. Vacuums and cares for carpeting
  11. Washes windows and wipes down furniture as necessary
  12. Cleans restrooms
  13. Maintains payroll records (hours) per the time keeping system


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties as requested or assigned my management


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school graduate or GED
  2. 3 or more years’ experience with related skilled trades
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office software (recent version(s) preferred, but not required)
  4. Organization and planning
  5. Attention to detail
  6. Physical ability to perform non-technical job requirements
  7. Communication skills (verbal, written) and to gather feedback and get clarity on miscellaneous job duties. Prompt attention to sending and responding to email messages
  8. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is occasionally requir3ed to lift, carry (up to 25 pounds), stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, push, pull or perform other physical activities
