The Janitorial Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the grocery store. This role ensures that the store provides a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers and staff. The Janitorial Associate will perform routine cleaning tasks and respond to specific cleaning requests as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in all areas of the store, including aisles, restrooms, and break rooms.
  • Dust and clean surfaces, shelves, and displays.
  • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
  • Replenish restroom supplies (e.g., toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels).
  • Clean and sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles, shopping carts, and checkout counters.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned, including carpet cleaning and floor waxing.
  • Clean windows, glass doors, and other glass surfaces.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the store management.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
  • Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide assistance in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist customers with locating items or providing directions within the store as needed.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
  • Adhere to the store’s cleaning protocols and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Previous janitorial or cleaning experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Good communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
