Job description

Jr. Level Scheduler

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

We're seeking a Jr. Level Scheduler to join our Jacobs team supporting the ODOT ADA Delivery Program. This Delivery Program is a statewide, multi-year initiative to bring pedestrian curb ramps into compliance with ADA standards by 2032. The work spans planning, design, construction, and closeout across a geographically dispersed portfolio. Jacobs provides technical support and owner's representative services, helping ODOT strengthen program delivery through planning, program controls, data management, risk management, reporting, technical leadership, design reviews, and project delivery oversight. You'll help maintain the integrated program schedule, validate project information, and prepare recurring forecasts and reports. The role requires disciplined P6 and data management skills, clear communication, and traceable reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Data Collection and Validation.
  • Collect, reconcile, and validate milestone dates, phase status, ramp information, and forecast inputs from approved project, portfolio, financial, construction, and scheduling systems and records, along with project-team updates.
  • Identify missing or stale milestones, inconsistent start and finish dates, unexpected date movement, phase misalignment, and unresolved assumptions; document findings and coordinate clarification with the appropriate project manager or construction manager.
  • Maintain consistent project and package identifiers, region and scope classifications, STIP phases, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) codes, activity codes, and milestone definitions in accordance with the PMP and BOCS.
  • Schedule Maintenance and Forecasting.
  • Support the development and monthly update of the integrated program schedule.
  • Enter and verify actual dates, forecast start and finish dates, data date, progress, logic, calendars, constraints, activity coding, and supporting notes.
  • Development and maintenance of the program schedule baseline.
  • Assist with resource and cost loading, time-phased ramp production and expenditure profiles, and leadership-directed schedule scenarios or forecast options.
  • Perform schedule-quality checks for open ends, leads and lags, constraints, out-of-sequence progress, critical and near-critical paths, float, coding completeness, and data-date discipline.

Bring your curiosity, passion for innovation, and talent for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. We'll help you grow, pursue and fulfill what inspires you โ€“ so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Here's what you'll need:

  • 2 or more years' experience in planning, scheduling, or project-controls experience on engineering, construction, transportation, or other capital projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Data Analytics, (OR) a related field. We will accept equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to support on-site or hybrid work at Jacobs, ODOT, or project locations as required by the program.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Working proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6, including WBS development, activities and relationships, calendars, constraints, baselines, status updates, layouts, filters, and XML or XER import/export.
  • Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, data dates, milestones, float, critical and near-critical paths, and the distinction between an approved baseline and a current forecast.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including tables, filters, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, PivotTables, data validation, data manipulation, and summarization of large datasets.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, data-quality discipline, organization, and ability to maintain an auditable record of schedule inputs, assumptions, and outputs.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and recurring monthly deadlines while following established program governance and procedures.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management concepts for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, KPIs, and performance metrics for executive and operational stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality standards, and best practices for data management.
  • Ability to identify trends, analyze complex data, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
