About the Role
Hays Electrical Services is looking for an IT Onboarding Manager to own our end-to-end technology onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring every employee has the hardware, software, and system access they need on day one. You'll lead a team of onboarding specialists responsible for device imaging, Azure administration, identity and access management, and Jamf-based endpoint management — bringing a detail-oriented, process-driven approach to building consistent, scalable IT onboarding workflows. Partnering closely with HR, Security, and business leaders, you'll deliver a seamless, secure employee technology experience from pre-boarding through offboarding.
What You'll Do
Device Provisioning & Imaging
  • Image, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices for new hires using standardized imaging processes
  • Maintain and update device images to reflect current software, security patches, and configuration standards
  • Troubleshoot imaging failures and device provisioning issues
Identity & Access Management (Azure)
  • Create and manage user accounts, groups, and licensing in Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
  • Configure conditional access, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and role-based access for new employees
  • Manage device enrollment and compliance policies within Azure/Intune
Endpoint Management (Jamf)
  • Enroll, configure, and manage Apple devices (Mac, iOS) through Jamf Pro
  • Deploy software packages, profiles, and security policies via Jamf
  • Monitor device compliance and resolve enrollment or policy conflicts
Onboarding Process Management
  • Own the IT portion of the new hire onboarding checklist, from pre-boarding through first-week support
  • Coordinate with HR, hiring managers, and facilities to ensure timely equipment readiness
  • Track onboarding tickets and SLAs using the IT service management (ITSM) tool
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to increase onboarding efficiency and consistency
Offboarding & Asset Management
  • Execute offboarding procedures, including account deactivation, device retrieval, and data preservation
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of IT assets throughout the employee lifecycle
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date documentation of onboarding/offboarding procedures, imaging configurations, and troubleshooting guides
  • Ensure onboarding processes align with company security and compliance policies
  • Support audits by providing accurate records of device and access provisioning
What You'll Bring
Required:
  • 2–4 years of experience in IT support, onboarding, or endpoint management
  • Hands-on experience with Azure (Active Directory/Entra ID, Intune, licensing management)
  • Hands-on experience with Jamf Pro for Apple device management
  • Experience with imaging tools and processes for Windows and/or macOS devices
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to follow and improve structured processes
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple onboarding requests simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination with HR and hiring managers
  • Experience using an ITSM/ticketing platform (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Connectwise)
Preferred:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Jamf Certified Associate, CompTIA A+/Network+)
  • Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash) to streamline provisioning tasks
  • Familiarity with MDM/UEM tools beyond Jamf (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Kandji)
  • Experience in creating or maintaining onboarding process documentation or SOPs
What Makes You Successful Here
  • Detail-Oriented — you consistently catch discrepancies in access, configuration, or documentation before they become issues
  • Process-Driven — you follow established workflows precisely while spotting opportunities for standardization and improvement
  • Technically Proficient — you're comfortable working across Azure, Jamf, and imaging tools in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative — you work effectively with HR, IT Security, and business stakeholders to deliver seamless onboarding experience
  • Reliable — you manage competing onboarding deadlines with minimal supervision
Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment (up to 30 lbs)
