Position Description
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for leading and executing strategic marketing initiatives that elevate Zane State College's brand, drive student enrollment, and enhance campus and community engagement.
  • This role manages the Welcome and Testing Center staff, ensuring a sense of belonging and consistent professionalism for students, employees, and visitors.
  • The Manager oversees the development, distribution, and analysis of compelling digital and print content, manages social media platforms, and ensures message alignment across departments and channels.
  • The Manager collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote academic programs, campus events, and student success stories.
  • This position requires strong project management skills, data-driven decision-making, and proficiency with Jenzabar tools (JRM and J1) to ensure coordinated communication efforts and seamless CRM integration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Planning and Execution (25%)
Develop and execute annual and campaign-based marketing plans to support institutional goals.
Ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms and materials. Align marketing strategy with enrollment and retention priorities.
Collaboration and Cross-Departmental Support (25%)
Responsible for the Welcome and Testing Center customer service experience, as well as the mascot request coordination. Partner with faculty and staff to promote programs, events, and initiatives. Coordinate communication around major events, deadlines, and institutional updates. Support internal and external communication.
Content Creation and Distribution (20%)
Oversee creation of digital and print materials including brochures, flyers, web content, video, and email campaigns. Collaborate with departments to develop promotional materials and student success features. Write and edit content for print collateral and web.
Social Media and Digital Engagement (15%)
Manage the College's presence across social media platforms. Develop engaging content calendars and monitor platform performance. Respond to audience engagement in alignment with institutional voice and policies.
Data Analysis and CRM Integration (15%)
Use Jenzabar JRM and J1 to track outreach and engagement efforts. Analyze campaign data to measure effectiveness and guide improvements. Maintain up-to-date contact records and integrate marketing with recruitment and retention workflows
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in marketing or communications.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills.
  • Experience with higher education marketing.
Preferred:
  • Proficiency with Jenzabar tools (JRM and J1) or equivalent CRM platforms.
  • Experience in multimedia production and web management.
  • Understanding of social media analytics.
Work Environment:
  • Standard office hours with evenings or weekends for social media and event coverage.
  • Hybrid work options available based on project needs.
  • Some local travel required for media coverage, partnerships, or promotions
