SCHEDULING & EVENTS COORDINATOR-HILL STUDENT CENTER
The University of Alabama at Birmingham
General Responsibilities:
The Scheduling and Events Coordinator is responsible for all scheduling and event management of Hill Student Center managed areas, including outdoor spaces. This position is responsible for processing requests via the on-line reservation system as well as responding to walk-in, phone, and email requests for space. To ensure successful events for all clients, the Scheduling and Events Coordinator will provide guidance and resources related to catering, equipment rentals, and marketing as needed. This position will assist the department with a wide variety of administrative and supervisory duties in the area of facility operations, policy and procedure enforcement, equipment purchases, program management, and statistical data collection and reporting. When applicable, the Scheduling and Events Coordinator will directly supervise a team of student event assistants and other paraprofessional staff as assigned.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Manage all meeting and event scheduling for the Hill Student Center and provide overall customer service and event assistance as needed.
2. Coordinate event logistics, including equipment, staffing, and compliance with Hill Student Center and University guidelines and procedures.
3. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate all employees reporting to the Scheduling Events Coordinator, including student and paraprofessional staff.
4. Assist in the creation, review, and implementation of department initiatives, policies and procedures, and facility use guidelines.
5. Assist in developing and meeting revenue goals for facility and equipment rentals.
6. Prepare, analyze and report participation statistics, and assist with program evaluations and assessments in areas of responsibility.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly Pay Range: $19.23 - $20.19
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality or a related field and one (1) year of related experience is required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
