Effective for the 2026-2027 school year, the Chester County Intermediate (CCIU) has vacancies for part-time food service workers throughout Chester County. Our food service workers work late August to early June each year.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Current police, child abuse & FBI Fingerprint clearances required prior to hire
  • PA school personnel health form required prior to hire
  • Must be able to lift between 20 to 35 lbs. consistently on a daily basis and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the preparation and serving of quantity and quality food and to observe all methods of portion control in both preparation and serving then record on production sheet.
  • Participate with cooking and baking of food in ovens, steamers, on stoves and in microwaves.
  • Assist with family style service for Head Start as well as vending, catering, and cafeteria as needed.
  • Follow HACCP (Food Safety Plan) procedures, maintain sanitary conditions and complete necessary recording of all temperatures, etc.
  • Operate a point of sale (P.O.S.) computerized screen as per School Lunch Program guidelines, counts money, complete deposit slips and associated paperwork as needed.
  • Responsible for limited food purchasing. Follow proper procedures for receiving and storing all food and supplies.

TCHS Brandywine - 443 Boot Road, Downingtown, PA 19335
  • Monday - Friday (4.5 hours/day); 180 days per year from August - June; Up to 22.5 hours per week

TCHS Pennocks Bridge- 280 Pennocks Bridge Road, West Grove, PA, 19390
  • Monday - Friday (5 hours/day); 180 days per year from August-June - Up to 25 hours per week

TCHS Pickering- 1580 Charlestown Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460
  • Monday - Friday (5.5 hours/day); 180 days per year from August - June - Up to 27.5 hours per week

2026-27 Hourly Rate:
$15.29- $16.37/hour; placement on the scale is based on similar previous experience
