Forbici Modern Italian restaurant, located in Hyde Park Village, serves modern Italian dishes that are made fresh daily, an all Italian wine list, curated craft cocktails, and more. There is something for everyone around the table at Forbici.
Job Summary
A Guest Service host is responsible for exceeding the Guests’ expectations by providing them with friendly, prompt and attentive service that is tailored to the Guests. Host maintain the reservations and wait lists and are able to provide accurate wait times to the Guests. Hosts seat the guests while ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff. The Host is responsible to answer phones in a prompt and professional manner and answer questions and direct calls as applicable.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant a plus.
  • Passion for creating memorable moments of hospitality for our guests.
  • Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with peers and Guests.
  • Ability to understand, speak and follow written and verbal instruction in English
  • Strong attention to detail and well organized
  • Excels in a team environment and is viewed as a team player by all Team Members
  • The ability to stay positive and calm under pressure.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow.
  • Must be able to obtain food safety and responsible alcohol service certifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
Physical Requirements
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to lift, push, pull approximately 25lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 10 hours during a single shift, while possibly navigating ramps, stairs, and elevators.
