What You’ll Do as an ITAD Technician

As an ITAD Technician, you’ll play a vital role in securely processing retired electronic equipment. This is a hands-on position perfect for someone who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and contributing to a cleaner environment. Every device you process helps protect customer data while supporting responsible electronics recycling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Asset Processing: Receive, inspect, sort, and label incoming electronic equipment.
  • Data Security: Perform secure data destruction using approved methods and ensure all devices are properly sanitized.
  • Testing & Refurbishment: Test and diagnose electronic devices, perform basic repairs, and prepare items for resale or redeployment.
  • Dismantling & Recycling: Safely dismantle equipment, separate recyclable materials, and follow environmental guidelines.
  • Inventory & Documentation: Record asset information, maintain organized workstations, and assist with inventory management.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow OSHA and company safety policies, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
What We’re Looking For

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and electronic devices.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), electronics repair, or data destruction.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware troubleshooting and refurbishment.
  • Forklift certification or material handling experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory control and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Background in electronics recycling, manufacturing, or distribution.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Safely use hand tools and power tools in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
