Job description

Amentum/SNS requires casual CONUS/OCONUS TechnicalEngineering resources to provide survey, installation, and configuration assistance for a Wireless Intrusion Detection System at various locations both CONUS and OCONUS. Work will be on a casual basis, as the installation schedule is fluid, with 2-4 weeks of work every 2-3 months.Schedules will be arranged prior to actual installations and could vary in length.

Work Schedule: Flexible

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Engineers will be responsible for antenna/bracket assembly, installation above drop-ceilings, pulling and terminating ethernet cables, and potentially transporting equipment between buildings.

  • Some fiber optic cable installation and termination may be required.

  • Executing tasks in accordance with all applicable Amentum safety standards.

  • Performs work in an environment that has a mix of business hours, and after-business hours, depending on customer building availability.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Work will take place in Data Centers and some office spaces

  • Standing for long periods of time, carrying up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, being on scissor lifts, ability to use hand tools and power tools.

  • Requires sustained focus and attention to detail while working in active data center and office environments. Ability to read and follow technical drawings, installation plans, and wiring diagrams; troubleshoot issues in the field; adapt to changing site conditions; prioritize tasks; and maintain accuracy while meeting deadlines. Position also requires sound judgment, situational awareness, and clear communication when coordinating with team members, customers, and other trades.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Prior experience with current IT installation procedures/methods.

  • Working knowledge of signal flow and low-voltage power systems.

  • This work will require climbing stepladders up to approximately 10 feet or using scissor lifts for higher ceilings.

  • A minimum of ten years' experience in related field.

  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Great interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.

  • Ability to work in a multilateral environmentwith diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationallyas required

  • Must have and active TS/SCI level of clearance and the ability to maintain.
