Frederick County Government is seeking a highly knowledgeable Deputy Director of IT to serve as a trusted advisor and principal deputy to the IT Director. In this pivotal role, you’ll combine advanced technical expertise with proven leadership to guide county wide IT initiatives, optimize operations, and ensure continuous compliance across a wide spectrum of services.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the principal deputy to the IT Director, providing both strategic and operational leadership.
• Oversee day-to-day operations across core IT functions: Help Desk, Network Operations, Virtual Infrastructure, Server Administration, Applications, and GIS.
• Lead planning, budgeting, and execution of IT projects that align with organizational priorities.
• Collaborate with County departments to assess needs and deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and cybersecurity compliance standards.
• Manage and mentor IT staff, fostering growth, accountability, and service excellence.
• Build and maintain strategic vendor and technology partner relationships.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of progressive IT management experience.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have held it for at least 2 years.
