Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and solutions-oriented Information Technology (IT) Manager to oversee technology infrastructure, systems, and support services across all ITAV locations. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and effective technology operations that support both educational and administrative functions.

The IT Manager will lead technology initiatives, manage IT systems and vendors, oversee cybersecurity efforts, and support innovation in educational technology while ensuring operational excellence across the organization. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with organizational goals and growth
  • Lead and support the IT team while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Manage IT budgets, forecasting, and technology planning

Infrastructure & Systems Management

  • Oversee network infrastructure, servers, devices, and systems across all ITAV locations
  • Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of all technology systems
  • Manage technology vendors, contracts, and service providers
  • Support hardware and software implementation, maintenance, and upgrades

IT Operations & Support

  • Ensure timely and effective technical support for staff and students
  • Oversee device management, troubleshooting, and user support processes
  • Develop systems that improve operational efficiency and workflow
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes related to technology access and equipment

Cybersecurity & Data Protection

  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity protocols and risk management strategies
  • Monitor and protect systems, networks, and data from security threats
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices
  • Train staff on cybersecurity awareness and technology protocols

Educational Technology & Innovation

  • Support integration of educational technology tools and platforms
  • Collaborate with school leadership to enhance classroom technology use
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and educational technology trends
  • Lead technology projects that improve learning and operational outcomes

Data Management & Reporting

  • Support data governance, integrity, and accessibility across systems
  • Manage systems that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of technology-related records and documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational priorities

Position Details

  • Location: ITAV Bronzeville (Chicago, IL); travel between campuses and sites as needed
  • Position Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Position
  • Salary Range: $57,500 โ€“ $73,158
  • Grant Funded
    • This position is supported through grant-funded programs that are integral to ITAVโ€™s education model. These funding streams enable us to expand access to high-quality, culturally responsive care and learning across our communities.

Requiredย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management or systems administration
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and IT operations
  • Experience managing technology projects and vendors

Preferred:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in a related field
  • Experience working in educational or nonprofit environments
  • Experience with educational technology systems and platforms
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use computer equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move technology equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel between campuses and respond to onsite technology needs
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems in office and classroom environments
