Job Title: IT Technician
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: IT Manager / Systems Administrator

Position Summary

The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for computer systems, hardware, software, networks, and related technology services. This position assists employees with troubleshooting technical issues, installing and configuring equipment, maintaining system functionality, and ensuring reliable day-to-day IT operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
  • Assist users with password resets, account access, and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain and support network infrastructure including Wi-Fi, switches, and basic cabling.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and preventive maintenance.
  • Set up, Configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, tablets, interactive panels, user accounts, email access, and related equipment for employees.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Document support requests, resolutions, inventory, and system changes.
  • Assist with data backups, recovery procedures, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment repair and support.
  • Provide support for multimedia presentation and communication technology systems as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and supplies.
  • Follow company policies regarding information security and acceptable technology use.
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours support when required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
  • Previous technical support or help desk experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking basics, and common business applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and effectively adhere to, at times, very tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and work under desks or in server/network areas as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
