About The Role
The Senior IT System Administrator is responsible for the stability, security, and day-to-day operation of the bank's IT infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with hands-on operational work, including routine system administration tasks, while independently handling complex issues and supporting infrastructure improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on administration of Windows and Linux servers in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud resources (compute, storage, networking).
- Monitor systems, networks, and cloud platforms to ensure availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and security incidents, including routine operational issues.
- Implement and maintain security controls (MFA, firewalls, endpoint protection, patching).
- Administer identity and access management (Active Directory, IAM, GPOs, DNS, DHCP).
- Manage backups, replication, and disaster recovery tasks, including regular validation.
- Support LAN/WAN, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes following established procedures.
- Automate operational and maintenance tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Document configurations, procedures, and operational changes.
- Participate in infrastructure and security projects.
- Stay current with cybersecurity threats and infrastructure best practices.
- On-call rotation for critical infrastructure support.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance or incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Windows and Linux server administration
  • Virtualization (VMware / Hyper-V)
  • Networking fundamentals

- Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, and/or AWS.
- Solid understanding of security principles and IT compliance frameworks (ISO, HIPAA, GDPR - preferred).
- Comfortable performing both routine operational tasks and advanced troubleshooting independently.
- English required; Portuguese and/or Spanish preferred.
- Experience performing similar duties in similar highly regulated industries is preferred.
