Seeking an HR professional with FMLA and ADA experience to manage a high-volume leave and accommodations caseload. Whether your background comes from an internal HR team or a third-party leave administrator, this is a great opportunity to build expertise in employee relations, compliance, and leave management while supporting a collaborative HR team. Benefits administration experience is helpful, but leave management experience is the priority.

Job Description

This role is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with experience in leave management and employee accommodations to join a collaborative HR team. The primary focus of this position is administering and managing employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability claims, and workers' compensation cases. The individual will oversee a high-volume caseload, partner closely with employees and managers, and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and company regulations. While benefits administration and open enrollment support are part of the role, leave management experience is the primary focus.

  • Guide employees and managers through leave and accommodation processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Review medical certifications, accommodation documentation, and supporting leave paperwork.
  • Coordinate the interactive process for ADA accommodations and maintain ongoing communication with employees, managers, and healthcare providers as needed.
  • Track leave utilization, return-to-work timelines, and accommodation effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate case records, documentation, and reporting within HRIS and leave management systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for employee questions regarding leave eligibility, accommodations, and disability programs.
  • Partner with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, and other vendors regarding leave and disability claims.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related questions and life event changes associated with leave situations.
  • Support benefits administration activities including enrollment changes, eligibility updates, and COBRA processes.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment activities as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive medical documentation.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, reporting requests, and process improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of leave administration, leave management, accommodations, or employee relations experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, disability administration, workers' compensation, and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent leave and accommodation cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret leave laws, policies, medical certifications, and accommodation requests.
  • Experience working with third-party leave administrators or managing leave programs internally.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and case management skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information with professionalism.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience supporting leave programs for a mid-sized or large workforce.
  • Exposure to employee benefits administration and open enrollment processes.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and leave management systems.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, CEBS, CLMS, or other HR-related certifications are a plus.
Work Environment

This position offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact supporting a complex and active leave management function. The team manages approximately 45 active FMLA cases and 10+ ADA accommodation cases at any given time, providing excellent experience for someone looking to deepen their expertise in leave administration and compliance. Benefits administration and open enrollment support are included, but the primary focus of the role is leave and accommodations.
