The HRIS Specialist works closely with Human Resources leadership, managers, Finance/Payroll, and other internal stakeholders to ensure employee information is accurate, secure, and maintained in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Duties amp; Responsibilities:
HRIS Administration: Serve as the primary day-to-day administrator and subject matter resource for the Council’s HRIS and related HR technology platforms; maintain employee records, organizational structures, job information, compensation data, benefits information, employment status, workflows, user roles, permissions, security access, procedures, and user guides.
Employee Lifecycle amp; Data Integrity: Process and monitor new hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, leaves, and terminations; perform routine audits to identify and correct data inconsistencies, errors, or incomplete information.
Reporting amp; Compliance: Analyze HR data to support workforce planning, employee trends, turnover, staffing, compensation, compliance, and organizational decision-making; assist with annual reporting, audits, compliance reporting, and organizational surveys.
Payroll, Benefits amp; Reconciliation Support: Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure HRIS data supports payroll processing; support benefits administration, employee eligibility, enrollment accuracy, and reconciliation between HR, payroll, benefits, and other systems.
Process Improvement amp; HR Technology Projects: Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through automation, improved workflows, and better use of HR technology; participate in system implementations, integrations, upgrades, testing, and enhancement projects.
Employee, Manager amp; Stakeholder Support: Respond to HRIS questions, troubleshoot system issues, provide training and guidance on appropriate HRIS use, and serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees, managers, HR leadership, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Confidentiality amp; Special Projects: Protect confidential employee information, exercise discretion with sensitive HR matters, assist the Senior Director of HR with daily duties, and complete special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
2–4 years of experience in HRIS administration, HR operations, HR data management, or a related HR technology function.
Experience working with an HRIS platform and managing confidential employee information.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including sorting, filtering, formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, HR professionals, technology vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, and contribute effectively in a team environment.
Commitment to shared leadership, sound judgment, strong customer service, and service excellence.
Experience in a non-profit organization.
Proficiency in Salesforce, Looker, and Litmos software platforms.
Bilingual ability in Spanish and English.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness and ability to work regular and varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
Travel throughout council jurisdiction, up to 25% of the time.
Valid driver’s license, use of a personal vehicle, and proof of current vehicle insurance.
Ability to successfully pass background screening and register annually for GSUSA membership.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand:
