IT Service Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Service Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing or semiconductor environments. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure, corporate workplace systems, and manufacturing operations, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT systems and MFG production environments, while also managing user onboarding and offboarding processes, handling daily IT service requests, and providing timely technical support. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime, maintain operational efficiency, and ensure a seamless user experience across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure & Network Administration

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues related to firewalls, routers, switches, wireless systems, and industrial network devices.
  • Monitor network performance, system uptime, and infrastructure reliability.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures including access controls, endpoint protection, firewall configurations, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Support VMware ESXi infrastructure, virtual servers, and backup/recovery systems.
  • Administer Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.
  • Perform routine patching, upgrades, system monitoring, and disaster recovery testing.

User Support, Onboarding, & Workplace Technology

  • End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Own the user onboarding and offboarding processes, including provisioning/deprovisioning Active Directory/Microsoft 365 accounts, setting up hardware, and assigning software licenses.
  • Helpdesk Escalations: Act as the primary point of contact for daily corporate IT service requests, troubleshooting hardware, software, peripherals, and local office connectivity issues.
  • Workplace Tech Support: Deploy, maintain, and support office technology, including conference room AV setups, local printers, and site-wide VoIP/communication systems.
  • Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of corporate hardware, software assets, and license allocations.

Manufacturing & Production Systems Support

  • Support manufacturing operations by maintaining and troubleshooting production-related systems, workstations, barcode scanners, label printers, industrial PCs, and shop floor devices.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to ensure minimal downtime of production systems.
  • Assist with ERP, MRP, MES, and manufacturing software integration and support.
  • Assist with implementation and validation of system changes within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Provide technical support for production floor systems while adhering to operational and compliance requirements.

Cleanroom & Compliance Support

  • Support IT and technology systems operating within cleanroom and controlled manufacturing environments.
  • Follow cleanroom gowning, contamination control, and operational procedures when working in controlled areas.
  • Ensure IT systems and devices deployed in cleanroom environments meet company quality and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to minimize operational disruption during maintenance activities.
  • Maintain documentation related to system changes, validation activities, and compliance requirements.
  • Support audit readiness initiatives and customer compliance requirements.

System Administration & Storage Systems

  • Maintain knowledge of enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Perform capacity planning, storage provisioning, and data replication.
  • Ensure regular system updates, monitoring, and maintenance activities are completed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration, infrastructure, desktop support, or network engineering.
  • Proven experience managing user provisioning, Microsoft 365/Active Directory administration, and corporate helpdesk workflows.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments and production floor systems preferred.
  • Experience working in cleanroom, regulated manufacturing, semiconductor, medical device, aerospace, or similar controlled environments is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, VMware, networking, firewalls, and enterprise storage systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MRP, MES, or industrial/manufacturing software platforms.
  • Experience with industrial networking, manufacturing equipment connectivity, or OT environments is a plus.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices within both corporate office and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments.

Work Environment

  • Combination of corporate office, data room, and manufacturing floor environments.
  • Ability to work within cleanroom and controlled manufacturing environments while following gowning and contamination control procedures.
  • May require occasional after-hours or weekend support for maintenance windows and critical production outages.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (servers, switches, workstations, ups units) as needed.
