Reports to: Technical Operations Manager

Join a Growing MSP Team

CMIT Solutions is seeking a skilled, client-focused, and highly capable IT Systems Engineer to join its growing team in Strongsville. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working across a variety of client environments, solving complex technical issues, and supporting small to mid-sized businesses in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) setting.

This role is a key part of the service team and is responsible for advanced support, proactive systems administration, infrastructure project work, and on-site client service. The technician will serve as an escalation resource, help maintain stable and secure client environments, and contribute to continuous improvement across operations and service delivery.

What You’ll Do

Client Support and Issue Resolution

  • Independently manage and resolve technical support requests across multiple client environments.
  • Deliver timely resolutions while maintaining strong client communication and high satisfaction.
  • Serve as an escalation point for more advanced technical issues.

Systems Administration and Monitoring

  • Use RMM tools to monitor systems, deploy patches, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Help maintain healthy, secure, and reliable client environments through proactive support practices.

Infrastructure and Project Work

  • Support projects such as server migrations, network deployments, hardware refreshes, workstation rollouts, and system upgrades.
  • Assist with implementation efforts that improve reliability, performance, and long-term supportability.

Network and Security Management

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Support environments using Unifi and WatchGuard technologies.

Backup and Business Continuity

  • Administer backup solutions to support data protection, recovery readiness, and business continuity.

Procurement and Recommendations

  • Assist with hardware recommendations, quoting, and procurement to align technology solutions with client needs.

On-Site Client Support

  • Travel to local client sites throughout the Cleveland and Akron area for hands-on troubleshooting, installations, and support.

What You Bring

Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on IT experience.
  • Prior experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Experience supporting both Windows and Mac environments.
  • Familiarity with RMM tools and proactive system monitoring.
  • Strong networking knowledge, with preference for experience in Unifi and WatchGuard environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Exposure to VoIP systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Kaseya and Barracuda products is a plus.

Certifications

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365, or other relevant industry credentials are preferred.

Mobility Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and active auto insurance required.
  • Ability to travel to local client sites; mileage reimbursement is provided.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including servers, UPS units, and workstations.
