Senior Project Manager Strategic Initiatives Program Management

Location: Pomona, CA (Hybrid).
Compensation: $178,000 - $215,000 base plus bonus.
Relocation: Available.
Travel: Up to 20%.

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead enterprise technology programs supporting grid modernization and next-generation energy infrastructure within a regulated electric utility environment. This role sits within a Strategic Initiatives Program Management Office responsible for driving high-priority transformation initiatives that impact grid reliability, customer capacity, and operational resilience.

The ideal candidate has experience delivering large enterprise technology programs within an electric or gas utility, particularly those related to smart grid systems, grid modernization, and enterprise technology transformation.

This is a high-visibility role working closely with executive leadership, engineering teams, regulatory stakeholders, and technology organizations to translate long-term strategy into executable programs.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead large-scale technology programs or portfolios supporting grid modernization initiatives.
  • Provide end-to-end program leadership including strategy alignment, planning, governance, and risk management.
  • Develop technology and capability roadmaps aligned to enterprise and regulatory priorities.
  • Drive implementation of smart grid technologies and digital grid capabilities.
  • Oversee system integrations, data migrations, and enterprise platform implementations.
  • Support development of investment strategies and funding plans for strategic initiatives.
  • Establish and manage program governance frameworks and stage-gate processes.
  • Collaborate across engineering, IT, and operational groups to ensure cross-functional program execution.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations, strategic updates, and program status reports.
  • Support regulatory initiatives including rate cases, filings, and testimony preparation.
