Job description

SC&H is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Information Technology who will provide tactical support for the firm's technology operations. Reporting to the CIO, the Senior Manager, Corporate IT will be responsible for day-to-day IT operations, project execution, vendor relationships, and team development. This individual will help drive accountability and assist in advancing our technology to ensure that the IT organization can support the firm as we continue to grow.
This position is located at our Headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD with the expectation of 4 days a week in office.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals across SC&H's three core IT disciplines: Infrastructure (including Helpdesk), Applications, and Security.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance, where problems are solved proactively rather than reactively.
  • Own all supervisory functions including performance management, development planning, conflict resolution, and staffing decisions in partnership with the CIO.

IT Operations & Service Delivery
  • Ensure reliable, secure, and performant IT operations across SC&H's enterprise technology environment.
  • Oversee helpdesk and desktop support, holding the team to measurable SLAs and a high bar for end-user experience.
  • Direct system monitoring, patching, backups, and OS lifecycle management across all platforms.
  • Manage network infrastructure, firewall administration, and connectivity across SC&H's multi-site environment.
  • Own the IT service management platform and enforce consistent incident, change, and problem management processes.

Project & Program Management
  • Own full lifecycle delivery of IT projects, from scoping and resource planning through execution, stakeholder communication, and closeout.
  • Translate business needs from SC&H's practice lines into well-defined IT initiatives with clear timelines, owners, and success criteria.
  • Maintain a project portfolio and communicate status to the CIO and stakeholders proactively, without waiting to be asked.
  • Manage competing priorities across infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, compliance, and daily operations.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Foster strong working relationships across SC&H's service lines, supporting service line leaders in understanding IT capabilities and aligning technology initiatives to business priorities.
  • Communicate complex technology concepts clearly and confidently to nontechnical audiences.

Security, Compliance & Risk
  • Partner with the CIO and security leadership on SC&H's information security program, ensuring operational alignment with policy and audit requirements.
  • Drive infrastructure-level security practices including network segmentation, endpoint protection, MFA enforcement, and least privilege access controls.
  • Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including regular DR testing and tabletop exercises.

Vendor & Contract Management
  • Own vendor relationships and contract management for IT's portfolio of technology products and service agreements.
  • Manage renewal pipelines, SLA enforcement, and invoice oversight to maximize value and prevent unintended auto-renewals.
  • Review technology purchase requests for alignment with SC&H's architecture standards and IT strategy.

Qualifications
Required
  • 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including direct management of technical staff.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading and delivering technology projects with clear business outcomes.
  • Experience in professional services, consulting, financial services, accounting, or a similar client-focused environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise cloud platforms and modern endpoint management.
  • Proven ability to serve as a business partner to nontechnical stakeholders, translating requirements into roadmaps and communicating status without jargon.
  • Hands-on experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and technology procurement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable in a room with senior leaders and executives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred
  • Experience managing or participating in ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and formal change management methodologies.
  • Experience leading a cloud migration or major infrastructure modernization initiative.
  • Exposure to AI and automation platforms, with the curiosity and literacy to extend their use in a professional services context.
  • A demonstrated track record of building and developing high-performing IT teams, with the ability to assess talent, identify gaps, and make sound hiring decisions including, when the time is right, an internal IT project manager.
