Job description

General overview:

Oliver Fire Protection & Security is a design build firm that focuses on three primary commercial sectors, fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and security. We are seeking a talented and energetic individual to join our team as a Sprinkler Project Manager in the Baltimore, MD region.

The ideal candidate will excel at working both independently and in a team oriented environment, while proactively creating new opportunities to build relationships throughout their assigned Territory. As an industry leader, we provide our team members with competitive benefits that include profit sharing and dental and vision insurance, with low-cost deductions. Base Salary based on previous experience, education and certifications held.

Responsibilities:

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, management, direction, project completion, client satisfaction and financial outcome of assigned construction projects.

  • Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • On‐Site Project Meetings
  • Review construction contract documents and coordinate with general contractor/owner and sub‐contractors, and gather the required information for design scope and shop drawing preparation
    Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective communication of job information
  • Determining and seeing that the project runs on the proper schedule
  • Expedite information requests and make sure change estimates / change orders are conveyed in timely manner and are resolved
    Provide a billing breakdown for AIA billings and bill jobs monthly in a timely manner to assure payment
  • Project Monthly Report Generation with open change orders
  • Punch‐List Management
  • Issue all closeout documents including certifications & warranty
  • As‐Built/Record Document Procurement

Special Activities:

  • Attend customer events and company functions as required
  • Analyze competitor’s capabilities and approaches
  • Investigate trends and fluctuations in the fire protection market
  • Assist sales with estimating support as required
  • Membership and active participation in industry related organizations

Education and Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 year fire protection and/or project management experience preferred
  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude is required
  • PC skills; Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Highly effective networking and relationship building skills
  • Must be willing to travel locally/regionally
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Creative and innovative thinking and the ability to work with and manage cross‐functional teams
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Superior communication, organizational and relationship building skills
  • Strong personal desire to succeed
