Job Description: IT Program Manager

We are seeking a Program/Sr IT Project Manager to work within the IT organization of a $3B medical device company and lead medium-to-large and complex technology projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and within budget. This individual partners closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, and vendor partners to deliver technology solutions that enable business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Lead multiple complex IT projects simultaneously through all project phases (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, closure).

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs.

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking.

• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.

• Ensure project documentation, communication, and governance compliance.

• Lead end-to-end delivery of both programs and medium to large-scale projects, ensuring alignment to business strategy and enterprise priorities.

• Manage multiple interrelated projects within a program, including dependencies, sequencing, and integrated delivery plans.

• Define and govern program/project timelines, and resource plans.

• Establish and maintain integrated program roadmaps and ensure alignment across workstreams.


Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Partner with business leaders to understand needs and ensure alignment with business strategy.

• Facilitate steering committee meetings, executive updates, and status reporting.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams, external vendors and business.


Team Leadership

• Coordinate and lead project teams composed of IT, Project managers, business, and vendor resources.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Project Managers or Business Analysts.

• Foster a collaborative, results-oriented team culture.


Process & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the improvement of PMO methodologies, templates, and tools.

• Champion project management best practices and governance standards (PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid).

• Support organizational change management related to technology implementations.


Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.


Experience

• 8–15 years of total professional experience, including 5–10 years of IT project management experience.

• Proven success managing large, enterprise-level IT projects ($1M+ budgets).

• Experience leading cross-functional teams across infrastructure, applications, or cloud initiatives.

• Strong understanding of IT development lifecycles (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid).


Certifications (preferred)

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or PMI-ACP (for Agile environments)


Skills & Competencies

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational skills, attention to detail
