Come join our Application & Cloud Services (ACS) team where you will focus on project and service delivery within the Business Technology Services (BTS) department. You will be expected to focus on the WCB Windows distributed environment; proactively perform system management and deployment, provide technical expertise to resolve and prevent issues or problems. You will ensure that the stability, reliability, and availability of the environments are maintained with a Security focused mindset. You will provide input that will assist management in making tactical and strategic decisions in support of business and technology initiatives at the WCB, as well as research and evaluate processes, technology, and best practices to ensure ongoing service delivery and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities:

  • Be able to perform as primary support, maintenance, and administration for WCB Enterprise Applications and Cloud based environments.
  • Be able to perform as secondary support, maintenance, and administration for WCB Enterprise Applications.
  • Liaise with BTS and Business teams, to identify causes of problem tickets through the sharing of knowledge and processes.
  • Identify and assist in the creation of ACS processes, which will enable you to contribute to support of the business.
  • Participation in the planning and support of ACS projects and initiatives through continuous feedback and research.
  • Identify trends, process and technology improvements, and training issues to senior staff.
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead ACS projects and/or initiatives.
  • Installation of software in the environment, adhering to change management practices.
  • Prepare system and environment documentation as per standards.
  • Troubleshoot, and problem solve, hardware and software related issues
  • Resolve IT-related questions or problems, via problem tickets.
  • Liaise with service desk to reduce problem tickets through the transfer of knowledge and processes.
  • Identify learning and cross training opportunities within IS.
  • As an IT professional you may be contacted outside of regular business hours for response to emergency situation. This includes being on-call 24 x 7 rotation, as well as emergency escalation.
  • Support for Windows server infrastructure not handled by the Help Desk.
  • Maintenance and support of IT Infrastructure.
  • Proactively review ACS Service offerings. Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Research and evaluate processes, technology and best practices to ensure ongoing service delivery improvements.
  • Proactive role in ensuring BTS SLA's and OLA's are met or exceeded while maintaining superior customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in Critical Incident and Response Plans as ACS technical representative.

Your experience and skills:

  • Graduate from a recognized university or institute of technology in a computer related discipline.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
  • Must have or pursue current ITIL and COBIT certification. Microsoft certifications within Microsoft Azure will be an asset (Azure Admin, DevOps Engineer, Power Platform, etc.).
  • Approximately 10 years as an IT services professional, with at least 7 years of technical support experience working with Cloud based environments like Microsoft Azure, DevOps, Microsoft Windows Environments and knowledge of Linux is an asset.
  • Experience in Managing and Maintaining Azure DevOps Infrastructure and Pipelines.
  • Experience in Administrating M365 Enterprise Products like Teams and SharePoint is an asset.
  • Experience in Ansible, Kubernetes and Containerization is an asset.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing activities on a regular basis.
  • Proven technical troubleshooting skills.

Salary: Pay Grade 11 Start Rate: $85,182 to Job Rate: $110,542 per annum (includes Market Supplement)
