Job Summary
The IT Facility Manager position in Information Technology is responsible for maintaining and servicing the IT facility including, but not limited to the primary building, annex, John Lewis Hall datacenter, and IT datacenter. This includes routine maintenance of systems including: Fire alarm, fire suppression system, security alarm system, fob access system, CCTV, generator, transfer switch, UPS, etc. This position requires organization to ensure systems are maintained, inspected, and services in an appropriate time frame to ensure operations of the IT department continue without interruption. This position needs to report updates and issues to key personnel to make sure they are aware of the status of systems and make sure they are aware of issues and ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner. The IT Facility Manager is responsible for handling all work orders for the facilities and escorting Physical Plant through secure areas. This position is also responsible for maintaining tape back ups for critical systems ensuring back ups are pulled, logged, and stored appropriately. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field OR a minimum of two years of experience working within an Information Technology support area.
2. Skill in both time management and project management
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize those tasks effectively
4. Ability to make recommendations, overseeing, establishing and implementing various educational technologies, as well as acting on University directives
5. Ability to provide basic IT support to end users
Preferred Qualifications
1. Minimum of two years experience as a facility manager or related field, or equivalent education
2. Extensive experience planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting functional and technical requirements
3. Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints
4. Ability to effectively interface with staff at all levels
5. Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment
6. Excellent facilitation and organizational skills
7. Strong critical/analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
8. High energy level, adaptive and a strong team player with a good work ethic
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?
Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
