What is an audio visual integration technician?

Audio Visual Integration Technicians are specialists who install, configure, and maintain audio and video systems in various settings, such as offices, schools, conference centers, and entertainment venues. They work with equipment like projectors, sound systems, control panels, and video conferencing tools to ensure seamless operation and integration. Their responsibilities also include troubleshooting technical issues, performing routine maintenance, and sometimes training users on how to operate AV technology. These technicians play a vital role in creating environments where communication and presentations can be conducted smoothly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an audio visual integration technician?

To thrive as an Audio Visual Integration Technician, you need a solid understanding of AV systems, electronics, and wiring, often supported by a technical diploma or relevant certifications. Familiarity with industry-standard tools and software such as Crestron, Extron, AMX control systems, and manufacturer-specific certifications is highly valued. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication are standout soft skills for this role. Coordinating with other trades on-site, such as electricians or IT staff, can require strong communication and flexibility to keep projects on schedule. Staying up to date with rapidly evolving AV technology and addressing last-minute client changes are also frequent aspects of the role.

-You can work independently with minimal guidance but arenโ€™t afraid to ask the right questions when you need help.
-You have strong verbal and written communication skills and can be the face of our company to our clients.
Does experience count?
- Education: Associates degree is preferred, but not required. We will take into account your experience/skill level and what you bring to the table as an individual.
-Customer Service Experience: A must! As you can see our customers are #1 and we need someone who can take care of them and treat them as such.
-Attitude and Aptitude: Are key! We need someone who is eager to learn and comes to work ready to tackle any situation.
-AV/IT Networking: 2+ years of audio-visual installation experienceย required
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds over your head, have a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check and a Criminal Background Check
Whatโ€™s in it for you?
At CTI, we know our companyโ€™s success is directly correlated to the success of our employees. So, itโ€™s fitting that we thrive on and encourage employee growth, both professionally and personally.
Our competitive compensation package includes:
-A competitive base salary (DOE).
-Employer-matched medical and dental insurance. We also offer Vision Insurance and Prescription Drug Coverage (available after 60 days of employment).
-Employer matched 401K up to 3% (after 6 months of employment).
-Bonus eligibility based on a results-oriented incentive plan (after 3 months of employment).
-A graduated PTO program, all major holidays off, and three โ€œfloatingโ€ holidays, available upon the first day of employment.
-Special gifts for significant life events, such as marriage, childbirth, and house buying.
-Cell phone reimbursement plan.
-Long and Short Term Disability, and Life Insurance 100% paid by CTI.
-And more!
CTI is an equal-opportunity employer. We do not and shall not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any of its activities or operations.ย In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.ย
