Seeking a Talented Operations Manager in San Antonio!

Mr. Greens has proudly grown into one of the largest privately-owned produce distributors in San Antonio, Texas. With deliveries 365-days a year, 7-days a week and multiple runs per day, Mr. Greens has set the gold standard for service. Mr. Greens serves a large variety of clients, including restaurants, hotels, country clubs, caterers, grocery stores and retail outlets.

General Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the effective operation of the Shipping, Receiving, Transportation and Facility departments. In this role you will successfully lead all facets of managing people, performance/productivity, operating expense reduction and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of food products.
    • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement team to maintain optimal stock levels.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, train, and manage a team of warehouse and logistics staff, promoting a culture of safety, productivity, and teamwork.
    • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team skills and performance.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages employee engagement and development.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Analyze operational data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Implement best practices in warehouse management, logistics, and supply chain operations.
    • Utilize technology and automation to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively.
    • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to understand customer needs and preferences.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure a safe working environment by promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Budget and Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the operations budget, monitoring expenses and optimizing resource allocation.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to achieve financial targets.

Required:

  • 6 years professional experience with demonstrated progressive levels of management experience (with at least 4 - 5 years in operational management experience)
  • Experience in warehouse and transportation preferred.
