Job Description

The Technology Manager will oversee the conception, implementation and analysis of internal projects. Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle including management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. This position will contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery and verify that each project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with both technology resources and the other business units.
  • Provide direct training (both onsite and at events) to users of the various technology offerings available
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Works well with all aspects of the technology team (e.g. Project Managers, Quality Assurance, Developers, Support, Business Analysis, Business Intelligence, senior management, etc.) in order to ensure that the myriad of projects get executed on time and that the vision of the technology leadership is successfully executed.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Competencies:

  • Ability to oversee a variety of technology resources (Project Managers, Developers, QA, etc)
  • Ability to meet with both internal and external customers to understand their business requirements and work with the Project Managers to ensure a positive project result
  • Ability to learn complex software systems and be able to train others on the usage and role that the software plays within the organization
  • Ability to introduce and formulate plans for new software applications that are designed to improve efficiency or offer additional capabilities to the organization
  • Ability to work with senior management on variety of technology-related projects
  • Ability to understand overall business practices (e.g. sales, finance, marketing, etc.) and how technology can help support those practices
  • Ability to serve as a stakeholder representing the technology team when required by other departments for company-wide initiatives
