Job description

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Information Technology Manager plans, organizes, and manages staff in the Infrastructure and Technical Support groups to ensure the stable operation of the organization's information technology environment. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, supporting and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data infrastructure, storage infrastructure, and desktop experience. The Information Technology Manager also develops and implements policies, procedures, and best practices as part of the organization’s electronic HIPAA compliance program. The Manager directs the day-to-day activities of the Infrastructure and Technical Support sections and works collaboratively with leadership to create and implement an operational IT plan aligned with the LMHS strategic plan.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required, or obtained within 2 years.

Licensure/Certification: Microsoft and/or Cisco network certifications preferred. Project Management certifications preferred

Experience: Six years of progressively responsible Information Technology experience including documented experience in IT infrastructure planning and development and technical support, is required. Must also have experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Previous management and experience is strongly preferred.

Skills: Must have exceptional customer service and excellent leadership, project management, organizational and prioritization skills. Must also have the demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization; the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment; and an in-depth knowledge of HIPAA and other applicable laws, regulations and standards. Strong technical knowledge of data communications, network and PC operating systems and current network hardware, protocols, and standards is essential.
