Job Description
The Desktop Support Technician provides day-to-day hands on support to end users. The job primarily involves troubleshooting/fixing desktop issues and maintenance of the company's Avaya Phone infrastructure. There are a number of other areas which the Desktop Support Technician will be involved in, including first level response to emergency calls regarding network, servers & critical applications.ย  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Workstation troubleshooting, fixing, maintenance & deployment
ย ย ย  Printer / Fax troubleshooting, fixing, maintenance & deployment
ย ย ย  Avaya IP phone system - manage, maintain & troubleshoot
ย ย ย  Maintain detailed and up-to-date hardware/software inventory
ย ย ย  IT equipment and supplies procurement
ย ย ย  Hardware/Software installs and upgrades
ย ย ย  Manage IT documentation and work using our IT Helpdesk ticketing system
ย ย ย  LAN Support, basic networking support
ย ย ย  Exchange/Outlook support and Active Directory support
ย ย ย  Desktop Security - Firewall, AntiVirus management and support, patch management etc.

Qualifications

Requirements
ย ย ย  Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a desktop support role
ย ย ย  CompTIA A+, MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 or similar certifications a plus
ย ย ย  Solid and current experience in the following areas required:
oย ย ย  Windows 7
oย ย ย  LAN/WAN & networking basics
oย ย ย  Outlook/Exchange 2007/2010
oย ย ย  Printer/Fax support & maintenance
oย ย ย  Security best practices
