Job description

Job Summary:
SAIC is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to develop updated guidance for online operations and identify new technologies for integration into a technology and systems baseline, driving the future of online operations. This role involves evaluating and integrating new technologies while ensuring compliance with security frameworks.
Responsibilities:
• Provide oversight, deliver and integrate new technical solutions and guidance to advance online operational objectives.
• Evaluate new technologies, components, and services for applicability.
• Integrate new technologies and services into an existing baseline with minimal disruption to operations.
• Research, develop, maintain, and document new methods, technology, and services for integration.
• Conduct and provide quick-turn security and product assessments for new technologies.
• Document mission solution architecture and interfaces.
• Comply with the Risk Management (i.e., cyber security) Framework to ensure that the program addresses and mitigates vulnerabilities and risks identified throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagements, such as user requirements sessions, technical exchange meetings, user feedback sessions, and operational planning.
• Track work requirements and action items to meet program deadlines.
• Implement changes to current technical and networking solutions based on changing partner requirements, legislation, and policy.
• Conduct functionality testing for both new and existing operational systems and applications to ensure smooth integration of new technologies with existing systems.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Bachelors and 9 years or more experience; Masters 7 years or more experience.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating new technologies and services for compatibility with existing systems.
• Demonstrated experience researching and developing new technologies, services, or methods for integration into existing systems and baselines.
• Experience integrating new technologies and services into existing systems and workflows.
• Experience creating evaluation, integration, and test plans for new technologies, services, and components.
• Experience with Virtual Private Servers, Virtual Private Networks, and Virtual Private Clouds.
• Working knowledge of virtual environments and emulated mobile devices.
• Android O/S to include an understanding of how the operating system works and its security settings.
• Experience with domestic and foreign social media and security implications associated with utilizing social media sites.
• Knowledge of commercial messaging applications and their security configurations.
• Ability to perform technical analysis on networks and applications to evaluate security and applicability to online operations.
• Experience with browser security settings and add-ins.
• Ability to perform technical troubleshooting related to networks, hardware, internet services, and mobile applications.
• Ability to consult with customers to determine present and future user requirements.
• Experience defining, analyzing, tracking, and reviewing requirements.
Preferred:
• Experience working with commercial cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).
• Network monitoring tools.
• Understanding of network fundamentals, TCP/IP routing, switching, firewalls and VPNs, Ethernet, DS1, T1, routing concepts and routing protocols, HSRP, VRRP, DHCP, switching, 802.1Q, STP, VLANs, EtherChannel, IP Addressing, Subnetting and VPN.
• Experience with cloud networking concepts.
• Ability to use Tor as a means of obfuscating online activities.
• Knowledge of internet encryption protocols.
