Manufacturing IT Support Engineer
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an Manufacturing IT Support Engineer to support technology operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting applications, infrastructure, and operational systems that enable production activities. The position involves technical troubleshooting, data analysis, problem resolution, and support for manufacturing technologies, while contributing to process improvement initiatives and technology modernization efforts.
This is an excellent opportunity for IT professionals looking to expand their technical expertise while gaining experience in manufacturing operations and industrial technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support a multi-shift manufacturing operation, including occasional weekend production support when required.
  • Provide technical support for IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems, and end-user productivity tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting manufacturing operations.
  • Interface with IT teams and business stakeholders to prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Support incident resolution activities, including triage, escalation support, and execution of business continuity procedures.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, database, server, network, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Support the integration and long-term maintenance of applications and hardware.
  • Assist with workload management and assignment coordination as directed.
  • Develop, maintain, and share accurate technical support documentation.
  • Support local network equipment within a Cisco-based environment.
  • Support physical and virtual server environments running Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Support deployment and expansion of manufacturing technologies, including IIoT, mobile devices, software-defined networking, and Android- and iOS-based equipment.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience with Windows Server administration (2016 or newer) and/or Linux server administration.
  • Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches, including basic staging, troubleshooting, and cable installation.
  • Willingness to learn Cisco Software-Defined Architecture (SDA) troubleshooting and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory/ADFS.
  • Experience supporting virtual server environments (vSphere).
  • Experience supporting Android and iOS devices, including smartphones and tablets.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Experience supporting Windows PCs, office automation tools, and printers.
  • Experience supporting handheld scanners and imaging devices.
  • Ability to work onsite with flexible hours in support of a multi-shift operation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with plant-floor automation technologies, including control systems and PLCs.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting.
