Full-time

Job description

Coastal Precast Systems
Information Technology Manager
Full-Time • On-Site with Multi-Plant Travel • Reports to Controller / Executive Leadership
Position IT Manager (in-house lead, supported by a co-managed IT partner)
Location Chesapeake, VA (HQ) — with travel to plants in VA, NC, and SC
Employment Full-time, exempt
Compensation $100,000/year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits
About Coastal Precast Systems
Coastal Precast Systems (CPS) is a multi-plant precast concrete manufacturer serving infrastructure and construction projects across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. We operate four production facilities and support a growing workforce of approximately 130 users.
Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on IT Manager to serve as our internal owner of technology — running infrastructure, supporting users across all four plants, and leading IT projects. You will work alongside a co-managed IT partner that provides 24/7 security monitoring, managed security tooling, and after-hours coverage, so you are supported rather than on your own. The ideal candidate is a capable generalist who can both set direction and personally execute, and who knows when to lean on the partner.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure amp; Support
  • Administer servers, storage, backups, and network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, wireless, VPNs, WAN) across four plants, ensuring uptime and reliability.
  • Serve as the primary point of support for ~130 users — workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, email, and phones.
  • Administer the Microsoft 365 / Azure environment, and manage user accounts, provisioning new hires and revoking access for departures.
  • Support business and manufacturing applications, including ERP/job-costing and production systems (e.g., Titan or similar).
Security amp; Data Integrity (in partnership)
  • Serve as internal owner of security, working with the co-managed partner on endpoint protection, email filtering, MFA, patching, and access controls.
  • Ensure backups run and test restores regularly to protect data integrity and recoverability; help safeguard against ransomware, phishing, and ACH/payroll fraud.
  • Support compliance with cyber-insurance and applicable data-handling requirements.
Projects amp; Strategy
  • Plan and execute IT projects and installations — hardware refreshes, network upgrades, new-site build-outs, and cloud migrations — using internal and partner resources.
  • Maintain an IT roadmap and capital budget, advising leadership on technology investments as the company grows.
  • Own the co-managed partner relationship, coordinating work and holding the partner to service levels.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including 2+ years in a lead or administrator role with independent responsibility for an environment.
  • Hands-on expertise across network administration, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 / Azure, plus strong cybersecurity fundamentals (firewalls, MFA, endpoint protection, backup/DR).
  • Experience managing infrastructure across multiple sites; experience coordinating an MSP or co-managed IT provider is a strong plus.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel intermittently to plant locations in VA, NC, and SC.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's in IT, Computer Science, or related field — or equivalent experience and certifications.
Certifications
  • Required: CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
  • Preferred: Microsoft (MS-102 or AZ-104), network/firewall (Cisco Meraki, CCNA, Fortinet), or a cybersecurity credential (CySA+).
Preferred Experience
  • IT experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments; familiarity with ERP/job-costing or production systems; experience executing cloud migrations and infrastructure upgrades.
Travel, Conditions amp; Compensation
  • Based at the Chesapeake, VA headquarters, with intermittent travel to plants in VA, NC, and SC. Must be able to lift IT equipment (~50 lbs) and work in office and plant settings.
  • Salary of $100,000/year, commensurate with experience, plus a full benefits package.
