Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:
The IT Application Lead for Supply Chain -Workforce Management (WFM) Applications leads projects that apply new or existing technologies and solutions to solve business needs. This resource partners with the business to determine system needs, influencing and guiding the change process from concept to implementation. S/he coordinates the efforts of internal and external staff, and of key business partners in the support of existing production systems and in the execution of new system projects. The IT Applications Lead also serves as a functional and technical expert in one or more disciplines and works with software and/or hardware vendors on enhancements and production issues.

The base salary range for this role is $114,300 - $195,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    Develop partnership, acting as a liaison between technical and business teams to understand, troubleshoot, interpret, and advise on technical questions/issues/projects or business use cases. Participate in the full lifecycle of WFM implementations from discovery through design, build, test, and user adoption. Discover and analyze business requirements and business processes.
    Act as the technical lead for Workforce Management Systems and interact with the Operations team and software vendors. 
    Collaborate with internal and external IT teams to resolve/improve IT processes and procedures. Maintain stability and quality of service by ensuring standard operation standards and processes are followed and kept current.  
    Ability to lead development of content and deliver / present to Senior Leadership.
    Create usable documentation including audit findings, business requirements, and product design documents. Translate findings and design documentation into properly configured applications (Timekeeping, Scheduler, etc.).
    Maintain current in-depth technical, functional, and operational knowledge of UKG Dimensions.
    Lead the activities of providing new capabilities and driving value from existing capabilities. 
    Take a leadership role in analyzing the use of new and existing technology to meet current and future business needs. Investigate new tools, applications, and technologies and determine how these can be used to solve business problems. Understand business trends and the need for competitive advantage.
    Manage projects throughout the entire IT Project Delivery lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that requirements are defined accurately, systems are designed / coded or purchased that meet the defined requirements and are executed efficiently. Create detailed project plans, coordinates team resources and manages to overall project timeline. Ensure that test plans, communication plans, training plans and support plans are designed and executed successfully, on time and in budget. Required system and user documentation is created accurately, projects are completed on time and under budget and anticipated business benefits are achieved. 
    Work with other leads on large projects, either as a lead or a team member. Expected to perform business design and analysis, internal consulting, application testing, and application design reviews. 
    Direct execution of release and deployment plans with all stakeholders.
    Ensure IT change management practices and procedures are followed. 
    Manage day-to-day application support activities for defined area/department. Define and prioritize problems and requests.
    Support existing production systems, coordinate related support and enhancement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
    7 to 10 years' experience supporting retail systems preferably UKG Dimensions or UKG Workforce Central on cloud. Solid understanding of retail dynamics with focus on Distribution Centers within a complex, highly integrated environment.
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
    A solid understanding of industry best practices in retail; specific demonstrated experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices.
    Ability to work independently to identify and resolve issues including data integration and mapping errors, application issues and database utilization issues.
    Technical orientation balanced by project management discipline. Able to supervise internal programmers, analysts, consultants, non-technical business resources and external vendor resources.
    MS-SQL related experience 
    Experience with Microsoft office with high proficiency in Excel and preferably Access
    Experience working with Reporting applications like Power BI
    Experience with Data Integrations (REST Services, BigQuery, Batch)
    Demonstrated track record managing technical application projects.
    Able to articulate issues, build consensus around recommendations, define next steps along with defined timeline.
    Experience implementing and/or supporting hardware and packaged solutions.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving and root cause analysis skills using tools like Splunk or Dynatrace.
    Good verbal and written communication skills; good listening skills.
    Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization (i.e. Business Users).
    Outstanding work ethic, humbleness, displays a high sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly, and efficiently.
    Highly organized and detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience with UKG Dimensions modules like Timekeeping, Scheduler and Activities.
    Experience, certification or training on UKG Dimensions Boomi Integration.
    Experience with Applications running on Cloud preferably Google Cloud
    Experience dealing with cross-functional teams and business partners on projects.
    Experience working for a national retailer with Distribution Centers/locations or consulting firm.
    Workforce performance management Applications experience like Intelligrated Goalpost or similar.
    Deployment experience, rollout of hardware/software across Distribution Centers.
    Vendor Management experience.
