Job Description
The Israel Education and Engagement Manager strengthens the connection between our local Jewish community and Israel through strategic initiatives, partnership management, community programming, educational support, and relationship building. The role leads collaborative Israel engagement programs, oversees emissaries, and fosters connection with local Israeli residents.
Requirements
The primary responsibilities for this role will include:
Strategic Leadership
  • Serveas the organization's expert on Israel engagement trends, Israeleducation, and community needs.
  • Establishand track metrics to evaluate the impact of Israel education andengagement initiatives.
  • Collaboratewith Marketing on messaging, storytelling, and promotion of Israel-relatedprograms.
  • Shareimpact stories, program updates, and outcomes with community stakeholders.

Support for Schools: Israel & Hebrew Education
  • Providesupport and resources to day schools, congregational schools, and earlychildhood centers on Israel and Hebrew curriculum.
  • Connectschools with Israel educators, experts, and relevant programs.
  • Offer andplan professional development opportunities for educators on Israelengagement.
  • ConveneJudaics Studies Principals Network and Hebrew Educator Network Meetings

Shlichim & Shinshinim Oversight
  • Superviseand support Shlichim and future Shinshinim, including placements,schedules, and evaluations.
  • Strengthentheir integration across schools, synagogues, and communal institutions.

Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Strengthenand maintain partnerships with synagogues, schools, agencies, andcommunity groups.
  • Creatediverse cultural, educational, and community-wide programs showcasingIsraeli society and advocacy.
  • Coordinate/Collaboratewith Federation Mission Team on Israel travel opportunities
  • Serveas the primary liaison to the local Israeli community.

Qualifications
  • Strongpersonal connection to Israel and deep knowledge of Israeli society,culture, and current events.
  • 3-5+years in Jewish education, Israel engagement, community relations, orrelated fields.
  • Excellentcommunication, facilitation, and relationship building skills.
  • Experienceworking with diverse communities, including Israelis and interfaithpartners.
  • Abilityto collaborate effectively with lay leaders and professional staff.
  • Hebrewproficiency required.
  • Abilityto work evenings/weekends and travel to Israel as needed.
