Assistant District Attorney (Laterals or Experienced Attorneys)

Introduction The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office is one of the largest prosecutorial offices in the country. We are looking for the most qualified candidates to join our ranks, with the objective of recruiting those with diverse backgrounds, a strong work ethic, integrity and a commitment to public service and justice.

Lateral Hiring As we are one of the largest prosecutor's offices in the nation, our expansive functionality provides lateral candidates with a broad array of professional opportunities to grow their legal careers. Beyond litigation and appellate postings, the office actively recruits lawyers to fields involving victim services, information technology, community relations, asset forfeiture, and white collar investigations. Whether you are seeking a new challenge, chasing a desire to contribute to the public welfare, or returning to your roots, we will endeavor to place you where your skillset makes the most impactful contribution to the office and county. Starting salary for lateral applicants and experienced attorneys is primarily based on experience level and work assignment. Thereafter, salary adjustments will be awarded based upon merit and longevity. As a Suffolk County employee, you will receive a comprehensive benefits plan and be eligible for a pension.
