Description
Purpose and Scope
The Associate Manager, Field Work, International Countries reports to the Manager, Field Operations, International Countries Division (ICD) and collaborates closely with the Director, Headquarters Operations in coordinating the efforts of the International Countries division team at the International Headquarters. This position serves as a principal liaison to our ICD field staff and is responsible for the management of International Scripture Blitzes (ISBs) and support for in-country blitzes, coordination of the National Conferences, and functional oversight of the annual International Convention and pre-convention Faith Fund rallies, including international delegate travel.
Essential Job Functions
  • Demonstrate a solid, visible relationship with Jesus Christ which is evidenced by a heart for God, which then translates into a genuine, deep love for others and a concern that others also know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Possesses a Christ-like attitude in dealing with others inside and outside of The Gideons International, while faithfully upholding The Gideons International in prayer.
  • Encourage ministry leaders in their Christian walk with a compelling focus on building Godly character and strengthening the witness and testimony of members.
  • Serve as a principal liaison for the International Countries field staff, especially the National Directors and Field Representatives, at International Headquarters.
  • Is responsible for overseeing the International Scripture Blitz (ISB) program, which involves the planning and execution 20 ISB's each year in the International Counties around the globe, including:
    • Coordinating with Regional Directors to schedule the ISBs;
    • Actively building teams of participants in accordance with recommendations from Zone Trustees and National Association Trustees;
    • Working with team members, country leadership, and travel agencies on scheduling and logistics;
    • Managing written and verbal communication with ISB team members, country leadership, and travel agencies;
    • Coordinating with the Global Supply Chain & Logistics group to ensure Scriptures are in place for each ISB;
    • Communicating internally to ensure ISB details are effectively communicated and promoted; and
    • Maintaining ISB-related databases and compiling reports and tracking data post-blitz.
  • Oversee the preparation and updating of participant training materials for the International Scripture Blitzes.
  • Maximize the use, scheduling, implementation, and tracking of in-country scripture blitzes.
  • Exercise functional responsibility for the direction and support provided to our field staff in the International Countries with respect to the National Conferences held in those countries, including:
    • Securing the accuracy of content of the master agenda;
    • Identify and select the International Representatives to speak at and attend the National Conferences;
    • Oversee the preparation of speaking and training materials for the International Representatives;
    • Manage the scheduling and reporting; and
    • Ensure the National Conferences are conducted in accordance with Gideon standards and procedures.
  • Utilize the US Department of State Travel Advisory website to review all counties with travel to ensure it is safe to travel (Level 4) and provide monthly updates.
  • Direct the preparations for Faith Fund rallies held prior to the International Convention in various locations throughout the United States, including speaker assignments, correspondence, and support.
  • Serve as liaison between the Auxiliary Education and Training group in the U.S. and the Auxiliary Coordinators in the international countries.
  • Manage assignment recommendations for the International Countries Committee (ICC).
  • Oversee the updates to the International Countries' National Leadership Teams.
  • Assist with the oversight of camp visits, training, assignments, assignment portfolios, and camp visit/training reporting.
  • Organize, oversee, and support training for National Directors and Field Representatives.
  • Work as a project coordinator for various ad hoc projects for the ICC approved by the ICC and assigned by the Senior Director.
  • Serve as liaison for Crisis Consulting International.
  • Carry out ad hoc domestic and international field assignments and participate on ad hoc working groups and committees as assigned.
  • Recognize, evaluate, and pursue innovative ideas and opportunities to increase ministry effectiveness.
  • Adhere to all Gideon policies and procedures and the Code of Conduct and Ethics and ensures they are communicated and implemented.
  • Participate in ICD team meetings.
  • Participate in daily morning staff devotions and, on a rotating basis, serves by praying and reading Scripture in support of devotion leader.

  • Ability to provide analytical skills and strategically develop products, manufacturing, and cash flow cycles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, headquarters staff, International Directors, Regional Directors, members of the International Countries Committee, International Executive Committee, and International Cabinet, and other ministry leaders.
