Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IRS Enrolled Agent to join our dynamic team. As an Enrolled Agent, you will serve as a trusted tax professional authorized by the IRS to represent clients in tax matters, ensuring compliance and providing expert guidance on complex tax issues. Your energetic approach and deep understanding of tax laws will help clients navigate their financial obligations confidently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in tax accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory reporting within a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review individual, business, and estate tax returns with precision and attention to detail.
  • Represent clients before the IRS during audits, appeals, and collection proceedings.
  • Provide expert advice on estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law to optimize client financial strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive tax research using current regulations and interpret complex financial concepts.
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies including mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and asset management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance requirements and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software for accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting tasks.
  • Analyze financial statements and reports to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Support auditing processes by preparing documentation and conducting internal reviews of financial data.

Skills:
  • Extensive tax experience including tax accounting, regulatory reporting, and IRS procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, securities law, and non-profit accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial tools.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and perform account analysis.
  • Demonstrated expertise in auditing practices, account reconciliation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), LIHTC compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical accounting concepts clearly to clients with diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in regulatory reporting and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Proven track record in sales or financial services environments with a focus on client engagement.
