Job description

IRS Agent Position

This position is for experienced IRS agents only.

Position Summary:

Part-time or full-time seasonal positions available on the IRS contract. Work from home on a workstation with internet access while assisting taxpayers to order IRS Forms and Publications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Function comfortably in a fast-paced, performance-based call center environment where every call is monitored, recorded and assessed to see if you meet required performance levels
  • Take rapidly arriving incoming telephone calls one immediately after another
  • Conduct yourself and answer customer inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
  • Search for and enter information on your computer, moving between 2 or more open browser windows on the desktop, while you are on the phone.
  • Follow the processes and procedures that the call center defines for handling calls on every call

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have current US Government background check with interim or final staff-like access
  • Must have a minimum of one tax season previous experience as an Order Entry Clerk on the IRS program with NTI
  • Maintained a successful QA rate of 96.5 or higher in most recent employment on the NTI-IRS contract
  • Commit to working a minimum of 20 hours per week Monday thru Friday during tax season and must be available to work Monday and Tuesday for a minimum of 4 hours each day with more preferred

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bilingual in both Spanish and English

Availability/Scheduling:

  • Attend training for 10-12 days, 40-48 hours total at 4 hours per day between October and December
  • Prior to January 1st, you will receive very limited hours and your shifts will be scheduled dependent on preseason call volume
  • No time off approved January-April
