Job description

**Nilsen amp; Circana (IRI) Experience required**
POSITION OVERVIEW
World’s Finest Chocolate is seeking a Sales Data Analyst to support our North American retail sales organization.
This high-visibility role partners with national account teams (Walmart, Target, Costco, Kroger, etc.) to transform raw sales, syndicated, and trade-spend data into actionable insights via dashboards, ad-hoc reporting, ROI models, and trade-promotion analysis, while driving cross-functional projects from ideation to execution. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong Excel/SQL skills, early experience in Tableau or Power BI, project management discipline (timelines, stakeholders, deliverables), and a passion for CPG retail metrics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Dashboard Development amp; Maintenance (30%)
  • Build and refresh weekly/monthly Tableau (or Power BI) dashboards tracking:
    • POS velocity, ACV distribution, % promo, share of shelf
    • Category growth vs. prior year / plan
    • Customer P amp;L summaries
  • Automate data pipelines using Alteryx, Python, or native connector tools.
  • Utilize SQL to query and aggregate customer transaction data from a PostgreSQL database, identifying trends that informed marketing strategies
Retail amp; Syndicated Data Pulls amp; Analysis (25%)
  • Extract and cleanse data from:
    • Retailer portals (Retail Link, Partners Online, VIP, etc.)
    • Syndicated sources (Circana/IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, 84.51°/Kroger Precision)
  • Perform period-over-period, plan-vs-actual, and promo lift analyses.
  • Flag outliers and reconcile discrepancies with account teams.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide insights for key business questions
Trade Spend amp; ROI Analysis (20%)
  • Maintain trade-spend tracker; calculate ROI, GMROI, and incremental lift for every door-level event.
  • Partner with Trade Marketing to recommend optimal spend mix (TPR, display, feature).
  • Build post-event recaps within 5 business days of event close.
Project Management amp; Cross-Functional Support (25%)
  • Lead analytics-driven projects (e.g., new item launch tracking, void closure initiatives, assortment optimization, JBP data room prep).
  • Own JDA/Blue Yonder or internal planning templates for quarterly line reviews and JBP prep.
  • Define scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables; run status meetings and drive stakeholder alignment.
  • Document processes and train account managers on self-service tools.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
    • Experience:
      • 1–3 years in CPG sales analytics, revenue growth management, or category management.
      • Hands-on experience pulling data from retailer portals and syndicated sources (Circana, Nielsen, etc.).
      • Proven ability to build dashboards in Tableau or Power BI.
      • Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, index/match); intermediate SQL skills.
      • 1+ years managing projects end-to-end (charter, timeline, status updates, stakeholder alignment).
    PERFERRED SKILLS
    • Familiarity with trade promotion management (TPM) tools or TPM ROI models.
    • Experience with workflow automation or ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power Automate, Zapier, UiPath, or scripting).
    • Strong storytelling with data; able to present to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Experience with Smartsheet, Asana, or Microsoft Project.
    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
    Reports to: Vice President of Strategy
    LOCATION
    This is a remote leadership role. Travel to World’s Finest Chocolate’s Chicago headquarters is required one week per month.
