Artheonis seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful projects and grow within a well-established consulting firm. Candidate should be organized, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and procurement of environmental permits/approvals for design projects
  • Ability to effectively manage workload and shifting priorities.
  • Preparation of technical reports, e.g., Environmental Impact Studies, permit compliance documents
  • Field work to support environmental permitting, e.g., wetlands delineation, habitat assessment
  • Desktop review of environmental constraints utilizing ArcGIS, Nearmap, NJDEP GeoWeb, USFWS IPaC, etc.
  • Coordinating with internal and external project managers regarding projects scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordination with clients and regulatory agencies, including attending meetings
  • Develop documentation to demonstrate compliance with Executive Order 215 and National Environmental Policy Act, as required
  • Assist clients with meeting mitigation requirements, including coordination with mitigation banks, designing mitigation sites, and yearly monitoring of site
  • Assist with developing materials for project procurement proposals

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology
  • 0-4 years of experience in environmental science and permitting
  • Experience with wetlands delineations, mitigation, habitat assessments, cultural resources
  • Familiarity with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regulations
  • Proficient at performing wetlands delineations
  • Familiarity with New Jersey vegetation
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • Strong time management and organizational
  • Excellent computer skills are required. Must be efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with NJDOT and NJTA projects
  • Familiarity with US Environmental Protection Agency, US Army Corp of Engineers, US Coast Guard regulations
  • Experience with ArcGIS
