Job description

Cognizant is seeking a senior, consultative sales leader to drive Manufacturing Solutions Specialist - IoT Practice, with a primary focus on Manufacturing clients. This role is responsible for accelerating revenue growth across Product Engineering, ER&D, Industrial IoT, and smart Manufacturing solutions by partnering with Fortune 500 clients on their Industry 4.0 journeys.
The Service Line Specialist will own a portfolio of Manufacturing accounts, develop and execute growth strategies, and collaborate closely with global delivery, solution, and industry teams. The role carries full P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, total contract value, pipeline development, and demand forecasting. Success requires strong domain expertise, executive-level client engagement, and the ability to translate complex engineering capabilities into business value.
Responsibilities
• Define and execute growth strategies and pipeline plans across Industry 4.0, Manufacturing Operations Management, MES, WES, Asset Performance Management, Digital Thread, PLM, Product Engineering, and ER&D offerings
• Own and grow a portfolio of Manufacturing accounts with responsibility for revenue, bookings, and profitability
• Build and sustain senior executive relationships with client stakeholders and internal Cognizant leaders
• Develop and manage account plans in partnership with Client Partners, focusing on expanding existing relationships and acquiring new strategic clients
• Lead end-to-end sales cycles including opportunity identification, qualification, solution shaping, proposals, and RFP responses
• Collaborate with delivery teams to validate solution scope, cost models, and commercial structures
• Partner with internal solution and industry leaders to create differentiated, value-driven offerings
• Manage financial forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and demand planning for the assigned portfolio
• Operate effectively within a matrixed organization while achieving annual revenue and total contract value targets
Required Qualifications
• 12-15 years of demonstrated success in Sales, business development, or growth roles within the Manufacturing sector
• Deep expertise in industrial and process manufacturing engineering domains, including Industry 4.0 and Smart manufacturing.
• Proven ability to engage, influence, and sell consultatively to senior executives and C-suite stakeholders
• Strong technical acumen with the ability to translate engineering and IoT capabilities into business outcomes
• Experience working with ecosystem partners such as hyperscalers and specialized technology providers
• Excellent executive communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
• Ability to operate across all organizational levels in a complex, global, matrixed environment
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior consulting experience in engineering, digital manufacturing, or industrial transformation programs
• Demonstrated thought leadership in IoT, digital engineering, or manufacturing transformation
• Experience driving large, multi-year deals with Fortune 500 manufacturing clients
• Strong understanding of manufacturing industry trends, customer pain points, and emerging opportunities across IoT and engineering services
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $170,000 to $175,000+ depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
