Accounting Associate I
Job Description Accounting Associate for a fast-growing charter management organization with several unique operational lines. The Accounting Associate will support the business office team members with Banking, Purchasing, Accounts Payable and Receivable, and assisting school site staff and leaders with their day-to-day management and participation in financial related operations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work within various operating systems/softwares with accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide staff assistance on adhering to policies, procedures and deadlines
  • Reviewing AP invoices for accuracy
  • Track spending and collections for various areas of the organizations
  • Create monthly reports that update the status of spending in Excel
  • Review of General Ledger and Banking System reports
  • Assisting with the year-end financial audit
  • Assist with financial activities/fundraising for various related organizations, clubs, athletics and other business lines
  • AR Invoicing & Collections
  • Follow up with vendors and individuals on uncashed checks, W-9 collection
  • AP vendor management
  • Assist the business office with everyday tasks
  • Preparing deposits for the bank, electronically from the office and manually at the bank branch

This job operates in a professional office environment, is largely sedentary, and utilizes typical office
equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.). Normal business hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm,
Monday-Friday (although these hours may vary and may require occasional evening and weekend work
based on organizational needs). Minimal or no travel required, other than visits to local school sites (as
needed).
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Desire to be a business generalist
  • Passionate about making a difference in education
  • Proficiency in Excel preferred
  • Must be able to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer

COMPENSATION
This position is full-time, 12-months. Compensation will fall within a range of $53,000 - $66,000, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, including (but not limited to):
